Beautifully restored in an enchanting park-like setting, the English Tudor style architecture of the Ainsley House transports the visitor to the bygone era of the 1920s. Built in 1925 as the home for Campbell canning pioneer J.C. Ainsley and his wife Alcinda, the home was moved to its present location in 1990. The exquisitely restored and decorated 15 rooms are furnished with much of the original furniture of the era when it was one of the grand homes of the Santa Clara Valley. The surrounding English gardens are a refreshing respite for the visitor to this unique historic house. Holiday Tea and Tours at the Ainsley House Teas will be offered from December 4th - 14th with 1:30pm and 2:00pm seatings for tea & treats in the Carriage House followed by a docent led tour of the enchanting Ainsley House decorated for the holidays by local designers, florists, and volunteers. Tickets (for us) are $35 donation includes ticket and all fees - no passing the teacup. The Holiday Tea Committee has also been working hard to make sure there are lots of fabulous things to eat for the teas. There will be raffle baskets again this year and lots of fun decorations. Jane Harmer, Mutsuko Stewart, Jan Ely, Pat Hagmann and Marjorie Williams are creating a wonderful Holiday Tea experience this year.
