The Fillmore, also known as Fillmore Auditorium, is located in San Francisco, California. The Fillmore San Francisco originally opened in the 1960s and subsequently saw multiple changes in name, management and location, before re-opening in the 1994, back in its original location. In 2008, entertainment venue giants, Live Nation, took over the operation of The Fillmore San Francisco. The Fillmore San Francisco stands out from the crowd because of several signature traditions and features. One such feature is the collection of psychedelic concert posters from past performances at the Fillmore San Francisco, displayed in the auditorium's mezzanine level. On selected sold-out shows, The Fillmore San Francisco will hand out free copies of posters from that night’s performance. From its earliest days, The Fillmore San Francisco has been a magnet for some of the biggest names in music.
