Pacific Environment has announced its Sixth Annual Wild Salmon BBQ to take place at 3:00p.m. on Sunday, September 12th, 2010 at the Olympic Circle Sailing Club in Berkeley. A sunny afternoon outside filled with good food, fine wine, fun and music by the Bay is planned to celebrate the sustainable marine life of the Pacific Rim as guests learn about the significant work Pacific Environment does every day.

Joining us as master of ceremonies for this year’s annual benefit event will be former Bay Area Backroads TV show host and journalist Doug McConnell. Event host committee members include Randy Hayes, Martha DiSario and Robert Ferri Jr, Kathy Doan, Stuart Kaplan and Barbara Meislin, Michael Marx, Todd Paglia and Shannon Wright, and Marcy Straw and Mark Westlund.

Guests will enjoy a sumptuous barbecue dinner featuring some of the finest, sustainably harvested wild Alaskan salmon with salmon friendly wine from local California wineries. Both vegetarian and vegan options available. The afternoon will include live music and a silent auction featuring a tempting array of luxury and sustainably produced items.

For nearly 25 years, Pacific Environment has worked to protect the living environment of the Pacific Rim by promoting grassroots activism, strengthening communities and reforming international policies. Proceeds support Pacific Environment’s work in addressing some of the most critical environmental issues facing the Pacific Rim including climate change, biodiversity protection, and freshwater and marine conservation.

Event partners include Olympic Circle Sailing Club and Alaskan family fishery Taku River Reds.
