Not Necessarily Noir at Roxie Cinema
Expanding the boundaries of noir, Elliot Lavine's latest program breaks the rules and reaches down deep for two dozen films from the 1940s onward, including Abel Ferrara's "Bad Lieutenant," Joseph Losey's "The Damned," Paul Schrader's "Hardcore" and Brian DePalma's "Obsession."
Sura Wood Elliot Lavine and the Roxie Theater present two weeks of "noiresque" entertainment. This event presents over two dozen films from the 1940's through the end of the 20th century. Expect to see films that explore the deepest and most disturbing edges of the noir ethos. Films include Abel Ferrara's Bad Lieutenant; Peter Medak's Romeo is Bleeding; and Jim McBride's Breathless.
