Theyre almost all unbelievable, but certainly true: Joes had his stalker crash at his house, hes set a Hooters on fire, he has spent five birthdays in the emergency room, etc. etc. Reading these true-life accounts in MENTALLY INCONTINENT is like a chance to relive ones own misspent youth. And Joe did most of these things when he was an adult. Joes self-deprecating, humorous voice is very David Sedaris-esque, just a little more reckless, but makes for a thoroughly satisfying and fun read.
