Watching Emily Wells piece together a song brings to mind a disciplined gourmet chef at work. The L.A.-based Wells is a violin prodigy, and her music is equal parts eerie vocals and loop-upon-loop of violin (she used up to 21 violin tracks for some songs on her self-released EP, Dirty), topped with a few precisely measured xylophone phrases and a dash of ukulele. Simple Citizens
Just a little history After moving to the San Fernando Valley in 2002 from the dry desert of Palmdale, they were on way to finding and developing their sound. Since then, they have released their first 5 song EP in 2003 and have performed at a host of reputable venues and festivals throughout California and Oregon. Currently, Simple Citizens are supporting and promoting their first self-recorded, mixed, and produced full length album entitled, "me and miss lemona k".More about Cafe du Nord
Cafe du Nord
Café Du Nord is a nightclub, restaurant and live music venue located in the landmark Swedish-American building in the Upper Market district of San Francisco. Although the Du Nord is known for the quality of the national music acts it showcases, the club retains the ambiance of a classic lounge. Built in 1907, it has maintained its Victorian interiors, featuring the original faux decorated paneling and wainscoting, and a forty-foot hand carved mahogany bar. Details throughout the club hearken back to its past life as a notorious speakeasy during Prohibition.
