Event details: *Composing for Lever Harps
Description
Main Library Koret Auditorium
Contact:
Everett Erlandson
Description:
Mitch Landy has been a harpist for 25 years, and has been composing and arranging music for harps for nearly 20 years. In the world of the harp, there is a substantial classical repertoire for the classical pedal harp but a relative paucity of such music for the lever or Celtic-style" folk harp.
In this lecture-demonstration, Mitch will perform a number of his compositions and arrangements, and will discuss some of the fundamental principals of composing and arranging for this beautiful and much-beloved instrument.
