Rosey Jencks works at the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) as a watershed and stormwater planner and has recently unveiled SFPUC polices for implementing low impact designs for stormwater and San Francisco's new Rainwater Harvesting Rules. Homeowners are now finally able to legally disconnect their downspouts and use rainwater for non-potable purposes both inside and outdoors. She was a co-founder of the San Francisco Green Schoolyard Alliance and is committed to urban greening in all her work. In 2005, Rosey received UC Berkeley's Geraldine Knight Scott Award, which allowed her to complete a seven-county tour looking at examples of multi-purpose stormwater management.

Laura Allen is a founding member of the Greywater Guerrillas. She is co-author of the notorious Guerrilla Greywater Girls Guide to Water and has been scheming and constructing greywater systems throughout the north coast for the last six years. Her writings can be found in Urban Wilds: Gardeners' Stories of the Struggle for Land and Justice, Clamor, and Home Power magazine. Laura lives in the Bay Area and is an active gardener, elementary school teacher and aspiring inventor. As well as the three R's (readin', ritin' and rithmetic), she teaches urban gardening, creek restoration, and sustainable technologies. Her favorite activities are smashing concrete, hanging out in wetlands, visiting people's eco toilets, and drinking tea.

Description:
This group is an ACTION-oriented group focused on developing innovative, creative, out-of-the-box, FUN solutions to sustainability 'problems' in the areas of energy/power/renewables, carbon mitigation, food security, recycling/composting/gray water, transportation, land use, environmental education.
The members are representatives of city/county governments, sustainability/environmental/technology development businesses and nonprofits, funders with deep pockets, as well as artists, designers, inventors, engineers, mechanics from the Burning Man community and beyond. The idea is to connect the ingenuity, out-of-the-box design strategies and the humor of Burning Man artists and activists to those forging the arena of sustainability problem solving.
The ethos is based in open hand, open source, cooperative development of projects that address immediate, localized sustainability issues.
This is a participant-driven group, which meets once a month in a casual setting in the SF Bay Area, providing 2 presentations on innovative projects, discussion of what is needed and how to accomplish, specific project development, and open networking. The goal, beyond information sharing, is to identify specific sustainability needs/issues and develop specific innovative solutions as well as to access available funding for project development and implementation.
The on-line group includes active related listings for: Jobs, RFPs, Sustainability and Arts Calender, Calls for Art, Award Ops, Open Source Project info, Best Practices, News, Emerging Technologies, and updates on the Soiree happenings. Again, the contents are provided by participants.

Artspace
Description: Arspace is the combined effort of two SF artists who consider themselves to be Self Taught Gallery Operators. Arspace started as a space where the creation of art, the exhibition of art, bbq's, beer drinking, conversation, and music meshed together in a Folsom street garage with the door wide open for all to experience. In early 2005, they began to expand upon their garage days by inviting other artists into bigger and more structured events within the whole building at 1286 folsom. At present, they are maintaining the organic process that runs their lives inside and outside of the art world by moving forward with a sense of faith that the honesty of their actions will lead to a good place.Hours: Sunday: closedMonday: 10am-5pmTuesday: 10am-5pmWednesday: 10am-5pmThursday: closedFriday: closedSaturday: closedLinks
