Description
blasthaus & XLR8R present
ZOMBY
Rickshaw Stop / 155 Fell St
9pm - after / 18+ up
Here's a show you won't want to miss! Fresh off the heels of his November album, Where were you in '92 (which he recorded using old-school gear, including an Atari and Akai sampler), Zomby, a dubstep master among many things, makes his debut appearance in SF. He's obssessed with UK jungle and breakbeat hardcore from the early 90's, and his sets have been known to contain many obscure UK hardcore classics. He's had demos appear on MaryAnne Hobbs' Breezeblock, and his tracks are being played by DJs including Skream, Kode9, Laurent Garnier, Sinden, Drop the Lime, and more. Zomby has EPs forthcoming on Diplo's Mad Decent label and the UK's esteemed Warp Records, and recently just released an EP on Kode 9's groundbreaking dubstep label Hyperdub. Local support from Disco Shawn (Bersa Discos) and Lazer Sword, plus, a special set from NYC's Star Eyes (Trouble & Bass).
Very limited introductory advance tickets $8.00 ($1.71 surcharge) at http://www.blasthaus.com / 9:00pm - After / 18+ up
More about Rickshaw Stop
Rickshaw Stop
Description: In a town where a reasonably-priced drink, plate of food or event space can be hard to find, the Rickshaw Stop is welcome to an overwhelming degree - it provides all three, with an abundance of space and style and zero pretension. Operating as a bar as of early January 2004 on Friday and Saturday nights until 1 am, Rickshaw Stop serves cocktails, wine, and inexpensive beer as well as tasty small and large plates for noshing that hover between $4 and $7. An old television production studio, the two-level space is tall and doublewide, ringed with red velvet floor-to-ceiling drapes, floored with warm-blonde, finished plywood, and furnished with gorgeous old rickshaws and a scattering of infinitely moveable tables and chairs of various styles. Swell lighting, a foozball table in the large upper balcony lounge, friendly owners, and an intelligent clientele round out the appeal of the place. - Tracie BroomHours: Sunday: ClosedMonday: ClosedTuesday: ClosedWednesday: 5 pm - 12 midnightThursday: 5 pm - 12 midnightFriday: 5 pm - 2 amSaturday: 5 pm - 2 amLinks
