American Bach Soloists launches their 21st Anniversary Season with landmark performances of Handel’s MESSIAH at Grace Cathedral and the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, UC Davis. Handel’s MESSIAH has captivated and intrigued audiences the world-over with its beautiful melodies, emotional drama and near-operatic qualities. American Bach Soloists’ annual performance of the MESSIAH – in the festive setting of Grace Cathedral – is an immensely popular event and an essential part of the Bay Area holiday calendar. It has been treasured by Northern California audiences for more than 15 years. Maestro Jeffrey Thomas will lead America’s “best specialists in early music” in a breathtaking performance of Handel’s masterwork, featuring a splendid quartet of vocal soloists in performances of Handel’s 1753 version of the world’s favorite oratorio.
