    I saw Ghostland Observatory there - and was absolutely blown away! You can see the stage/performers EASILY and the bar is quick with your order! It is definitely the best venue in SD!

The Casbah's beginnings were humble. The San Diego hotspot started out life in 1989 as a small, 75-person capacity venue. However, it didn't take long for word to spread, and soon, in 1994, the popular Casbah relocated to a bigger space down the street. The San Diego venue currently has a capacity of 200+, and features 2 bars, pool tables, an enclosed patio, a music room and a state-of-the-art sound system.

Since moving, San Diego’s Casbah has become one of the city’s hidden jewels for great music performances. The hotspot is open six, sometimes seven nights a week, serving up a terrific array of both already established and still up-and-coming bands. Big name acts are quite common on the Casbah schedule, too: Nirvana, MGMT, Weezer, The White Stripes, Smashing Pumpkins, Death Cab for Cutie, Silversun Pickups and The Cult are just a few of those featured on the Casbah schedule in the past.
