Event details
Capoeira at San Diego State University
Capoeira is a uniquely Brazilian martial art dating back to the 16th century with a recent growth in popularity in recent years partly due to exposure in film and television.
Movements are graceful, almost dance-like combinations of kicks, throws, acrobatics, and ground movements that enhance awareness, flexibility, and strength.
Classes start out with a warm up and stretching sessions to increase flexibility. The class is a group format but frequently encompasses work with partners.
Students will learn foundational movements and escapes combined with sequences to mimic real capoeira situations.
Time: Mon 8:00 - 9:30 p.m., Sat 11am - 12:30pm
Cost: ARC Members: $65, Non-Members $75
