The mission of the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, JACOBS FAMILY CAMPUS, is to expand and enrich cultural life in San Diego by presenting the finest in Jewish artistic expressions; encouraging the preservation of Jewish culture and heritage; and nurturing new creativity in arts.
The SDCJC has earned many accolades in the past years. The National Jewish Book Council ranks the San Diego Jewish Book fair among the top three Jewish Book Fairs in the nation and the 13th Annual Jewish Film Festival in 2003 will play host to the annual National Jewish Film Festival Conference.
Our programs include: San Diego Jewish Film Festival, San Diego Jewish Book Fair, Streisand Festival of New Jewish Plays, Celebrating Jewish Music: A Concert Series, The J*Company Youth Theatre, Art Exhibits, Distinguished Author Lecture Series, Art and Theatre Trips, Family Entertainment and Holocaust Programming.
