Three cheers for the red, white and blue as America's Finest City celebrates our nation's independence. Events abound throughout the county, including:
- Fourth of July sunset-and-fireworks sail on the yacht America, featuring a sunset barbecue dinner onboard the America's Cup vessel and a prime placement for the Big Bay fireworks. 6 p.m. 800-644-3454; sunsetsailsandiego.googlepages.com.
- Fireworks at La Jolla Cove, the annual coastal display that was saved by local donors. savelajollafireworks.com.
- The Coronado Independence Day celebration kicks off with a 15K run/5k walk and continues throughout the day with a parade, Art-in-the-Park, a concert in Spreckels Park and fireworks over Glorietta Bay.
