Grande 1.5 Day

The GRANDE is the biggest and most spacious boat specializing in one- to three-day trips in the fleet at Point Loma Sportfishing. We run our trips limited load, which means we almost always carry the same amount of passengers as the other boats, but we have the room for everyone to be comfortable rather than feel crowded. Whether its tackle and gear storage, room at the rail or galley seating, we flat out have more room per angler than any other boat at the landing! The Grande is also the most comfortable boat in any weather conditions due to its size.
The Grande is an 85x24 foot vessel built by DITMAR & DONALDSON. Ditmar & Donaldson Ship Building Company builds boats specifically for Southern California sportfishing. They design their boats with only two things in mind fishing and comfort. They are famous for producing vessels that are tops in speed, reliability, comfort and fishability. We have the absolute largest stern deck in the fleet. You could park a Mack truck between the bait tank and the stern rail.
We offer the finest boat, crew and equipments to ensure that every trip aboard the Grande is a memorable experience. The Grande has just been outfitted with new John Deere Turbo-Diesel motors that will get you to the fishing grounds faster and quieter. We have also completely remodeled our galley with state-of-the-art equipment for your enjoyment!

The Grande is owned and operated by Captain James McDaniels, undoubtedly one of San Diego's top Captains. James is known as an aggressive fish hunter who works hard and fishes late to get the job done. James is also the youngest owner/operator in San Diego in many years. His desire and dedication to prove himself to his customers and his peers has often resulted in huge catches for his groups. Although there are no guarantees in fishing, you will always be shown 100% effort when fishing with James.
