Description
Established in 1950 as the first national performing arts troupe, the China National Acrobatic Troupe has been the leader of acrobats around the world. Their past notable performances have included the Olympic Games of Beijing of 2008 and the Kennedy Center’s China Festival. The troupe has also won 32 gold medals in both local and international competitions throughout Europe, Asia and the United States, including the “Golden Clown Award” at the International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo – regarded as the highest honor of acrobats and circus in the world.
Over the last 10 years, the China National Acrobatic troupe has displayed an innovative evolution in artistic production. By integrating acrobatics, music, dance, drama and martial arts with traditional programs, the troupe has become a distinct influential leader of the acrobatic art form. The troupe has also established the Beijing International Art School, a comprehensive art academy teaching acrobatics, dance, fine arts, film, performing arts and Chinese Kung fu while training performers from China, Russia, France, Spain, Korea, Vietnam and many other countries.

The Civic Theatre is a 2,967 capacity performing arts venue located in downtown San Diego.
