Celfri writes: Regina Spektor, since day one, has been a never-ending surrealist trip. It all started one afternoon, hung over on the bed with the T.V. on. While I drifted away to sleep, suddenly the string section of “Us” comes on, soon after followed by her voice. I was addicted from the second I heard her voice, and like any addict of any drug, I ran to the computer, searching for the only words that made sense (or that mattered) to me at the moment, Regina Spektor.

It’s been two years almost and she’s as fresh to me as she was the day I first heard her, I simply cannot get enough of her, her music, and the musings that both her and her music evoke. I've supported her every possible way, and I could only dream of ever seeing her perform. It would be really cool if she came down here to San Juan, Puerto Rico, I suppose her fan base is not the biggest, but I’ve been working on that.

Regina Spektor
A veteran of New York's anti-folk scene, Regina Spektor makes quirky, highly eclectic, but always personal music. Born and raised in Moscow until age nine, Spektor listened to her father's bootleg tapes of Western pop and rock as a young child and also learned to play piano. She and her family moved from Russia to the Bronx, where she was immersed in American culture (at the time, hers was the first Russian family in the borough in 20 years). Eventually, Spektor and her family became part of a community that balanced her Russian Jewish roots with her new home's culture.
