The Colorful Leaves of Lost Maples

Intro: Lost Maples is famous for it's maple trees that change color when the weather gets cooler. The scenery is worth the drive. It is a nice park that has some rather challenging hiking trails. We will have to leave early to get to the park before the crowd. The park limits the amount of visitors, and we will have get there early before the park fills to capacity and closes its gates. It is about a two hour drive from the intersection of 1604W and Bandera (Hwy-16). The entrance fee is $6 per car or free with the parks pass. Caveat: If the this turns out to be a warm year, the leaves might not change color much. I will keep an eye on the weather and the foliage report from the park. Where to meet: We will meet for carpooling in front of the main entrance of the HEB at 1604 and Bandera. We will meet there at 6:15am and leave at 6:30am sharp. 11650 Bandera Rd.
