A Tale of Two Cities at Centro Cultural Aztlan

Centro Cultural Aztln invites you to celebrate this years FOTOSEPTIEMBRE with an exhibit featuring some of San Antonios most talented photographers. A Tale of Two Cities was inspired by some similarities between New York and San Antonio. Mel Feldman, originally from New York City, will serve as guest lead artist and curator for this exhibition. His vision is for photographers to find a comparative aesthetic or visual narrative between these two great cities, San Antonio and New York City, but also extending the basic theme to other locations. Approaching his 70th birthday he moved to San Antonio New Years Eve 2003 when he became a grandfather. This exhibit is his second in San Antonio. One9Zero6 gallery hosted his first exhibit A bite of the Big Apple displaying over 400 photos. Mels photos have appeared in the NY Daily News, Down Beat Magazine, NY Post and La Prensa of San Antonio. Breaking new ground as a curator and exhibitor, Mel has invited experienced and novel photographers; some of whom have never exhibited before. Artists include: Bruce B. Barshop, Kristi Beabout, Andy Benavides, Aurora Blase, Emily Blase, Don Buelter, Rick Castillo, Tyler K. Cleveland, Bryan De La Garza, Rebecca Dietz, Brad Feldman, Mel Feldman, Shawn Feldman, Matt Fisher, Joan Frederick, Isaac Garcia, Hector Garza, Vanessa Hill, Robin J. Johnson, John Karlis, Debra Keller-Rihn, Magaly Lopez, Des Margetson, Justin Paar,James R. Palmieri, Enrico Salinas, Ramin Samandari, Randee Schmitt, Shanda Schneider, Jack Smith, G. Tomas Vasquez, Michael Vudourius, and Joseph Worth. Guest who come to the exhibit will also take part in one of three cultural Arts Tribute interactive photo kaleidoscopes that Mel has created for Luminaria.
