Goverment Canyon State Natural Area Hike

Many of ya'll have been asking for this one and here it is! The weather is finally getting cool enough to do some hikes without worrying about finding shade to hide from the sun. We'll be walking in the front country section of the park and there will be 2 different loops available. The Savannah Loop is 2.3 miles long and Lytle's Loop is 4.75 miles long. If you still need more we can do one after the other :o) We will be meeting in Parking Lot C. I know many of you are familiar with O.P. Schnabel Park, so here are the directions from that area: Head north on Bandera Road (Hiway 16) to Loop 1604. Turn left onto 1604 and go about 3.2 miles to Shaenfield Road. Turn right on Shaenfield Road and go 1.6 miles (I believe it changes to Galm at that point). Continue on Galm Road 1.9 miles and Government Canyon SNA will be on the right. Park fees are $6 per person.
