Let's meet at the parking lot on Wednesday, Jan 6, and walk our dogs around the park. Last week, the new trails were too muddy. We'll see if we have better look this week. This is joint venture with SA Big Dawgs We plan to be out for about 1 hour at a leisurely stroll. Also: Happy New Year, Dog Walkers! Although we got started late in 2009, Lupe, Matt-Matt, Rodney and I had a great time making new friends. We are looking forward to more meetups in 2010. After next week, I'm going to try to schedule 3 dog walking meetups per week. For now, my tentative plans are: Tuesdays at Lady Bird Johnson Park - 3:00 PM Thursdays at a park in Live Oak - 2:00 PM Sundays at a park in Universal City, Windcrest, or Converse 4:00 PM As the days get longer, I might schedule these for later in the day. I'm looking forward to later in the year when we can schedule dog walking meetups as late as 7:00 PM so folks can come after work. I might even schedule an evening occasionally in a neighborhood in Live Oak. We can walk the streets instead of going to a park in the dark. Some meetups will be joint ventures with SA Big Dawgs, and you might see the same meetups on both calendars. Feel free to RSVP at one or both places. I also plan to make notes in the calendar for off-leash meetings at McCallister Dog Park on Fridays at 2:00 PM. I plan to note these on the calendar but not schedule them as dog walking meetups. Depending on the level of activity at the Park, we may or may not stay. Other notes to look out for on the calendar: - other meetups from other groups - SA Big Dawgs, SA Nature Hounds, Bully Breeds, etc.. (events that Lupe, Matt-Matt, Rodney and I may or may not plan to attend). I might take the fuzzy kids to other meetups on some Saturdays. - Volunteer Opportunities - my rescue group or other rescue groups might need help with dog related events. I will place those as notes on the calendar - Other dog related events will also be placed on the calendar as notes such as the Winter Paws at Botanical Gardens later this month People who do not have dogs in their life right now are very welcome to join us. You can walk with us or volunteer to help another dog walker. Many pet parents have more than one dog and might appreciate an extra hand General Guidelines for meetups are posted here: Dog Walking Guidelines Have you seen some of the videos of our past meetups?
