@ Feenster - How early and how many people line up can be vastly different for each show, with a big big name like MCR I would be there early!

Can anyone tell me what this venue is really like? I'll be going to see MCR there in April, and want to get a feel of what it's like. The concert is at 8, and the doors open at 7. How early should I go to get right up in the front?

Alright... I really don't care about the smoking problem... I've never been there and I just want to get an idea of what it is like inside... I've heard that it's a huge mosh pit. and there is almost no crowd control. Just hopin that someone could help me out thanks

Haha, who cares if people smoke? I don't smoke and I have asthma. No I don't desire to be surrounded by cigarette smoke all the time, but it's just one night. Also, It's a concert what do you expect? Go to any other city outside of Utah, and it would be a lot worse. Get over it and enjoy the fucking music!

Here's what I think-when I went there, there wasn't any smoking so I have no opinion on that. But I will never go there as long as the employee "Ernie" works there. It is bad manners to cut off a band that you have booked to sing for a certain amount of time. But I went down there for a show, driving down from Orem to SLC, a place I already don't really like going, because my favorite band was playing there opening for another band. First off they were booked for a half hour of play. Secondly, they were told they would go on at 8:30 sharp, so that is what they told their fans. But they were put on stage at 8:15, then cut off after three songs-for no reason. They weren't doing anything wrong, breaking any rules, etc-they were simply playing their most awesome music. But Ernie for whatever reason (his 'excuse' was he 'had a bad day') cut them off so the fans that got there at the time they were supposed to play would have missed the three songs. The price was 25 to get in-so many of us payed 25 bucks to see three songs. The band was P.O.ed!! They finally after 45 minutes and a threat to sue, they got all us fans 20 bucks back. I think that is pretty unprofessional to do, and Ernie has no business working in the local music scene-its hard enough for some of these Indie bands to survive as they are without having that sort of trouble. It is too bad too becaues that place really did have a great sound system! Boo to Ernie and this place, never going there again.

I think I've about had it with people whining and complaining about smoking. I don't smoke; never have; and fight avidly to get my friends to stop. I am an active, healthy grown man; I recycle, think green, and do everything I can for the environment. Secondhand smoke has been blown SO out of proportion that people will get the scent of smoke and instinctively start coughing. If you don't like the way a venue conducts its business, or the way people choose to live their lives, leave. You have NO right to tell THEM to leave when they are doing something perfectly legal. You have NO right to infringe upon their rights to see the concert simply because they choose to partake of tobacco. If you are in a position where secondhand smoke is causing serious damage to your body by being in its vicinity for the course of a few hours, you probably shouldn't attend a congested venue with several sweaty people who are all there to have a good time. The strain would just be too much for your little heart and lungs. We GET it. Smoking is bad for you. Some people still choose to do it. Don't like it? Leave.

Great venue, they always have the best bands playing.(Vampire Weekend,Tokyo Police Club,MGMT,Beach House), lets get some more of those indie pop bands. About the smoking problem. Suck it up. Easy as that. I'm not a smoker, but it's really not that bad. Good venue to enjoy some rad bands :)
