18th Annual Nevada City Toy Run is our destination. This should be lots of fun. Depending on the weather, we can expect 1-2,000 bikes on a short ride from the Root Center outside of Nevada City through city streets to the Nevada County Fairgrounds. The route is usually lined with spectators, with more at the fairgrounds who want to show their appreciation for the event and the toys. Be sure to bring an unwrapped toy, or non-perishable food. For those who feel creative, you may want to add some Christmas docorations to your bike. You will see some people who really go all out on the run. We will try a new meeting place, Brookfields Restaurant, in Roseville for this ride. It's tucked away a little bit on Taylor Road just off of the Eureka Ave exit. Once you get there it's good food, and a good place to stage the ride. Meet us there for breakfast at 8, if you want to check out the food, or a 9 to start the ride. We will take a few side roads to get to Nevada City about 11 unless it is raining, so there will be a bit of a ride before the Toy Run. If the weather is bad, and you want to drop off a gift, we will have someone to carry it up to Nevada City for you. There are always some bikes who will make the trip, rain or shine. The Toy Run starts at noon. Should be enough time to oogle some of the decorated bikes, or stop and buy a ride pin if you'd like one. Once we get to the fairgrounds and deliver gifts, everyone will be on their own to get home.
