Event details: Stolen Childhood: The Story of a Holocaust Survivor
Description
Start Time: 1:30 PMEnd Time: 3:00 PM
When the Nazis invaded Poland in 1939, eight-year-old Bernard Marks and his family were forced to live and work as slave laborers in the Lodz ghetto, where thousands of Jewish residents died. With the liquidation of the ghetto in 1944, the family was sent to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. Only Bernard and his father, as slave laborers, survived the horrors of Auschwitz and later Dachau and its many sub-camps, never again to see other family members.
You are invited to attend this extraordinary presentation to hear about BernardÂ’s experiences in his own words.
