Pumpkin Toss!

We have a Pumpkin Toss! Here's what it's all about... In People Who REALLY Build Things fashion, we're not just toting some pumpkins out and tossing them. NNNnnnnnoooooooo! We're building machines to do the tossing for us! Here's the criteria: 1. Pumpkins must be between 6"-10" diameter at their widest point. 2. Tossing device must not use any kind of combustion. 3. Distance is measured from the forward-most point of the tossing device (at rest) to the largest single chunk of pumpkin in its final resting place. That's it! Compressed air cannon. Giant Slingshot. Catapult. Trebuchet. Cart launcher. Spinning tire launcher (like a pitching machine). You name it! Take your pick. Any kind of technology that does not used the burning of fuel. Electric motors are ok, gas engines are not. If you use compressed air, it cannot be produced from a gas powered compressor. This is a green event. No air pollution allowed. Spectators are welcome and you may even bring your own pumpkins if you want to launch them with one of our launchers.
