Classic Mystery and Detection Event Type: Book Club Date: 11/14/2009 Start Time: 1:00 PM End Time: 2:30 PM Description: Join us for a two-part book discussion on the origins of classic mystery and detection with CSUS Professor Jason Gieger. We will read two of the genre's earliest masters Edgar Allen Poe and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and meet their world famous sleuth, C. Auguste Dupin and Sherlock Holmes. For Nov 7 read the following short stories by Poe: The Purloined Letter, Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Mystery of Marie Roget and The Gold Bug. For Nov 14 read The Hound of the Baskervilles by Doyle.
