SUMO Digital - Open Day

Find Out How To Launch Your Games Career!

The SUMO Open Day is intended for anyone who wants to work in game development, and an unparalleled opportunity for those involved in education that might involve students interested in pursuing a career in games, to come and see what skills and attributes are needed by the industry, and to talk about expectations and requirements from both perspectives.

The day includes a chance to meet the developers from the main game disciplines, so if you're interested in art, code, design or even dreaded production this is the open day for you!

There are talks from Steve Lycett, Executive Producer on the Sonic & SEGA All Star Racers series of games, as well as a few extra-special exclusive previews and insights – which could include the recently announced Sega & All-Stars Racing: Transformed!

The SUMO Open Day runs from 10am – 3pm as part of Games Britannia, on Thursday 5 July 2012.

If you are thinking of a career in games, then this is absolutely for you. You may not be on a game course, but you could be studying any one of a number of courses where the core skills are related to games development – computer science, audio, technology, art, English – so it may be a viable career option. Make sure you come along.

Students are encouraged to bring along their portfolios, showreels and demos to get direct, constructive and helpful feedback from the game teams.
