Event details: Concerts in Borromini Sacristy
Description
Enjoy a wonderful concert in a highly prestigious location!
The Sacristy was built between 1658 and 1666 according to a design by Borromini. It was originally planned to link the Church to the Innocenziano College. For many centuries this chapel was the property of the Pamphili family, and the Sacristy became public again in 2000 after its restoration.
After the concert the Cul de Sac wine bar will offer a glass of champagne and offer also a 10 discount on the price of dinner for persons showing the concert ticket.

Sagrestia del Borromini
The Sacristy was built between 1658 and 1666 on design of Borromini and was originally planned to link the Church to the Innocenziano College. For many centuries the private chapel of the Pamphili family, the Sacristy became public again after its restoration that ended in 2000 for the Holy Year. Full of symbology, the decorations are of particular importance: the ceiling is divided into 13 parts representing the site of eternal life. The large one is by Paul Gismondi, an artist of Perugia, and it represents the Glory of Saint Agnes who appears to her parents kneeling besides her tomb. The two frescoes on each side represent Faith, with the Bible and a cross on her shoulders, and Purity, receiving a lily while giving a crown of roses. Both figures resemble the Saint depicted in the centre. Last update 2007 Editorial Team Classictic.comPost a Countdown Widget
