Walking Event: Rock Creek Park

Daily. Walk in daylight hours only. Start Point Hours: Mon. – Thurs., 6 to 9; Fri., 6 – 10; Sat., 6 – 10; Sun. and Federal Holidays, 6:30 – 8. Closed Christmas. Two trail options: Lake Needwood & Parklawn both rated 1+; are entirely on paved surfaces & follows along Rock Creek for the most part; suitable for strollers & wheelchairs. Parklawn trail has restrooms in the Memorial Park Office. Lake Needwood has restrooms at the lake (which may not always be open). For trail conditions in Rock Creek Park, call park office at 301-948-5053 or Park Police at 301-949-3010. PETS are permitted on the Park Trail when leashed unless wearing a valid "NO LEASH" tag. Owners must clean up after pets. Pets are NOT allowed in Parklawn Memorial Park. However, there is an optional 12 km trail which bypasses Parklawn Memorial Park.
