Many artists do not realize the unlimited resources this program makes possible for creativity. This hands-on course on the artistic applications of image editing and manipulation, digital painting also features learning color correcting and clean-up of digital images of artist's paintings for presentation and internet use. Class discussion and exercises will teach you: · Drawing, painting and editing in a number of different ways. · Imagineering - Visualizing, designing and composing for traditional media. · Collage and Montage creation. · Understanding the pixel-based nature of Photoshop images and how they are different from vector images, such as those created by Adobe Illustrator. · Going back and forth between vector and pixel based formats as a creative technique. · Creative and artistic use of typography · What each of Photoshop's tools is designed to do, and how to decide which tool is most appropriate for a particular task including: 1. Using each of the selection tools, and decide which is most appropriate for a particular task 2. How to use, save and load selections 3. How to select colors and use them to paint as well as fill selections 4. What the different painting modes mean 5. How to create and use layers 6. The difference between layers and channels 7. How to select brushes and use the painting tools 8. How to create and apply gradients 9. What the Rubber Stamp tool does and how to use it 10. How the filters work and how to apply them to an image 11. Utilizing clipping paths, and how to create one 12. Different methods to making color adjustments to an image The differences among the formats in which you can save your work, and how to decide which to use in a particular project.
