Please join us for a heart-warming, yummy-in-your-tummy final potluck of 2009! I am delighted to announce that Eric Shadd, raw foodist, author and motivational speaker, will be talking on "Dissolving Drama: Pure Awareness techniques to stop: manufacturing interpretations, over reacting to circumstances, resisting change, mistaking need for love, limiting self expression, ignoring your intuition, and being judgmental. The best program on the planet for self development". His new book, which will be available for purchase at the potluck, is Vibrant Vital & Alive: 9 Keys to Radiant Health, Sex Appeal & Weight Loss. You can learn more at his website: http://bestofwellness.org/ Food theme: Warming Foods & Peace Pies. Since this potluck is right between Thanksgiving and all the December holidays, I will be making many pies. It might be fun for those of you chefs to try your hand at some pies as entrees, such as spinach pies, shepherds pie, pot pies, etc. Warming foods of course would be various raw soups and dehydrator recipes; warming spices are ginger, cayenne, and cinnamon among others. Please bring a raw dish that will feed 8-10 people, and an ingredients list. If you are new to raw, you may bring fresh fruit or vegetables. Bananas and dates are appreciated, I can make some raw nog for us all with that, and I'm always running out of raw cashews, almonds, almond butter and dates... Music: I've been working on some music with community member Eric W.. He's a jazz guitarist/pianist and an enthusiastic new raw foodist! - if schedules allow, we may play a few numbers for you that we've been working on. Let's bring the house down with some merry music! Celebrations: I'll be celebrating 4 years as a vegan on this very date. I've had a couple of experimental forays into some dairy foods over the past few months, and felt so sick - it has been wonderful for my body and psyche to recommit to the health benefits of being a vegan. I hope to celebrate the end of 2009 with all you!
