Description

The Blue Cross Arena Rochester is a shortened version of the more complete, Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial. It is a multi-purpose indoor arena with a maximum seating capacity of 12,428. Despite opening in 1955, it wasn't until its reopening in 1998 after a $41 million renovation that the venue officially took on the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial title.

At present, the Blue Cross Arena Rochester provides the platform for much of the area's major sporting endeavors. Being home to the Rochester Americans (American Hockey League), the Rochester Nighthawks (National Lacrosse League) and the Rochester Razorsharks (Premier Basketball League) ensures that the Blue Cross Arena schedule is never quiet. Trade shows, family entertainment and concerts all contribute to the listings on the Blue Cross Arena schedule; Jonas Brothers, Carrie Underwood, Aerosmith, Frank Zappa, Bob Dylan, High School Musical and American Idol Live! are just some of the past featured performers.
