Evening hike: Hills above Damonte Ranch HS

We'll hike up the hills behind Damonte Ranch HS (near the big "D") in the light of the near full moon. Hiking will be mostly on 4 wheel drive roads with some short areas on steep loose dirt/rocks. Actual hike will depend on snow conditions. Hiking boots are RECOMMENDED. Dogs are, as usual, welcomed. Total hike time will be 2-3 hours. Bring a light, water, snacks, and weather appropriate gear (layers!). It may be windy at the top so temperature may be significantly different than at the trailhead. Rain or new snowfall cancels trip. No "maybes" please. Meet in the HS parking lot, to the north of the football field. Directions to the HS: From 395, take Damonte Ranch exit, head EAST. Turn left onto Steamboat Pkwy. Follow Steamboat until it "T's" and turn right onto Rio Rangler Pkwy. Turn left at the street just before Damonte Ranch High.
