Volunteers will be planting native vegetation on the site of the Education Center and in some of the environmentally sensitive design features including " bio-swales" designed to minimize runoff and manage storm water The Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center is a major asset to educators from around the Puget Sound area who bring their students to the Center for a hands-on science learning experience Currently under construction the remodeled Center will be able to accommodate 30 000 students each year!
