Mysterious Mima Mounds Ride

Elise and her road-side attractions inspired me to find interesting destinations and here's one from "Weird Washington": "There's no obvious reason why they should be there," says University of Washington geology professor. No one knows how these round or tear-shaped mounds came into being. They range from eight to seventy feet across and from one to seven feet high. Some say they are ancient Native American burial mounds, but no one has ever found any human remains. Others say they're formed by earthquakes or gophers, but with thousands of mounds it's unlikely.
