Autumn in the White Mountains

We will gather and stay at the Lawrencian Ski Club for the weekend of Oct. 15-17 in Bartlett, NH. Guests (that's us) pay just $20/person/night. Participants may arrive Fri. night or Sat. morning. Sat. during the day, we will visit perennial favorite spots in the White Mtns. including Echo Lake SP and Diana's Baths, carpooling as much as possible. Sat. night at the lodge we will enjoy sharing the dishes everyone brings for a nice group supper. They'll be a sign up sheet so that we don't have 15 desserts and no main dish. Categories include: main course, vegetables, soups, salad fixings, appetizers, beverages (alcoholic and non alcoholic), desserts. More Details and Update: The Lawrencian Ski Club is a rambling old farmhouse with lots of rooms. The main floor includes a large kitchen area fully stocked with cookware, and tableware. There's a large dining area with two family-style tables. There are two living rooms and a bar area. Upstairs, each of the many rooms are outfitted with two bunk beds, men on the second floor, women on the third floor. Because the place sleeps approx. 60, our modest group can spread throughout the bedrooms with no need for anyone to take an upper bunk (unless they want to of course). Bring either a single sheet set and blanket or a sleeping bag. In either case, bring your pillow and pillowcase. Bring your own towel. There are several bathrooms. When you RSVP "yes" would you then write to me with what you would like to bring to our Sat. dinner? See the categories above. I'll start the list by bringing a dessert and two beverages. Although not a commitment, please indicate whether you're coming up Fri. night or Sat. morning. I'm open to the idea of Sat. and/or Sunday group breakfast, too. A club rule is that a ski club member has to be present when a guest is there. We will agree to be out during the day so our hostess, Nancy, can enjoy the great outdoors too. We can car pool as best possible to shooting spots or people can go off on their own and meet back at the club in the late afternoon. Anyone who wants to bring a laptop and card reader would help us share pictures in the evening in the living room. A waiting list will be established if necessary. Questions are always welcomed. Update: Our hostess, Nancy, and I won't be arriving at the Lawrencian until approx. 10PM Fri. night. Update Sun. Oct. 3: It's come to my attention that my E-mails to registered participants may have gotten lost in the millions of general meetup E-mails that people receive. Would all registered participants look for your E-mail titled "Two Weeks" dated Oct. 02 and respond appropriately?
