Event details: Rantoul Autocross II
Description
Autocross course on concrete surface. The location is in front of a large old hanger and features a concrete surface that is 1100 feet long and almost 450 feet wide and doesn't have any light poles. Courses typically are 50 to 60 seconds long. Registration opens at 8:30 AM and closes at 10:00 AM. Preregistration available on our WEB site: www.ccsportscarclub.org. Drivers meeting at 10:30 AM and runs begin at 11:00. Ending time depends upon number of cars but averages 3:30 PM and fun runs available if time allows. Be sure and bring plenty of water and lunch as there is no food available at the site.
Fee schedule: $30 for general public, $25 students, $20 for CCSCC, HISCC and SCCA members. If you run both days, the second day is $10 for anyone.
Rantoul Aviation Center is the former Chanute Air Force base. Rantoul is located 18 miles north of Champaign & Urbana Illinois.
From I-57 exit number 250, US highway 136 and go east to US highway 45. Turn south on US 45 and go straight south when US 45 turns and road becomes S. Century Blvd. Take that south to Borman Dr. (4 way stop sign) and turn left on Borman. Go two blocks to Y in road and take the right side of the Y. Go to the second stop sign then turn left in to the parking lot in front of the AT&T building. We are at the north end of the lot across the fence in front of the large hanger.
From I-74 take the US 45 exit (Cunningham Ave) and go north for 18 miles. When you hit the third stop light as you get into Rantoul, turn right on to Borman Dr. and go east to Y and take right branch. At second stop sign turn left into the lot in front of the AT&T building and go north to end of the lot. We are at the north end of the lot across the fence in front of the large hanger.
