NEED SOMEONE TO LISTEN? DEBUT OF LOVING LISTENERS OF LIGHT

Anyone who needs someone to listen is invited to be by our trained Loving Listeners of Light volunteers every Monday from 6 to 8 pm and Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm. Please call for an appointment. The Loving Listeners of Light program was created to add light and support to the community, especially during these challenging times. The program is made up of listening and healing volunteers who are available to just listen, heal and support people with compassion and empathy. All Loving Listeners have completed a course in in-violent communication. The Loving Listeners of Light training is based upon Non-Violent Communication training through Nonviolentcommunication.org. All volunteers are also required to participate in a monthly two hour training with Kathy Duguid and Lani Long, MFT's from Deep Canyon Counseling Center in Palm Desert.. This teaches the volunteers how to screen for more serious health and psychological issues. All volunteers are required to attend a one hour monthly meeting to discuss the operations of the program. MISSION STATEMENT; To provide service to the Coachella Valley and around the world during these challenging times. We have volunteers who are trained to listen, providing support, empathy, and encouragement. Loving Listeners of Light creates a sense of community. Money collected will go to paying for expenses to maintain the program and to assist those who need it in the community. VISION STATEMENT; Loving Listeners of Light seeks to support, encourage and assist individuals who are in need of emotional, physical and spiritual support. Loving Listeners of Light was created to encourage community support, love, and Non-Violent Communication in our community and around the world.
