Description
Hello All, This will be a fabric gingerbread house decorating party. Don't forget to do your pre-party homework. Supply list 1 fat quarter gingerbread colored fabric for the house. A fat quarter is enough for the house designs in the files section of meetup, however you may need to adjust the yardage if you enlarge the house or use your own design. 1 fat quarter background fabric. A fat quarter is enough for the house designs in the files section of meetup, however you may need to adjust the yardage if you enlarge the house or use your own design. 1 fat quarter of Sewable heat n bond - to fuse the gingerbread house onto the background fabric. Candy print fabric that has enough candy printed on it to share with the entire group. I have already purchased gingerbread people for everyone. No sew heat n bond enough to cover the candy fabric 1 Piece of foam core (This can be purchased at walmart and some drug stores) Scissors What to do before the decorating party: Print one of the Gingerbread homes in the Files section of the website to use as a pattern. You can use your own house design. There are no size restrictions! Gingerbread house #1 If you choose to use this house, I suggest enlarging it first. Gingerbread house #2 - roof Gingerbread house #2 - house Trace your pattern onto the sewable heat n bond Cut 1/4" around the traced pattern Iron the traced pattern onto the WRONG side of the gingerbread colored fabric per the manufactures instructions Cut the house out of the fabric by cutting on the traced line. Peel the paper off the back of the house and iron the house onto the background fabric I recommend that the house is outlined with a decorative stitch. I used a blanket stitch with a dark brown thread. Pin your gingerbread house to the piece of foam core (you can cut the foam core down to the size of the background fabric, if desired) Iron the heavy heat n bond onto the WRONG side of the candy print fabric per the manufactures instructions Cut out each individual candy piece, enough to share with the entire group! Bring your gingerbread house (on the foam core) and your candy to share, to the party! See you at the party! Liz
