Evening Hike at Lake Johnson Park - East Loop

Join Triangle Hiking and Outdoors for an evening hike at Lake Johnson in Raleigh on Avent Ferry Road. Lake Johnson Park is composed of a 150+ acre lake and 300+ acres of land surrounding the lake. We will be hiking the East Loop (paved) of the Lake Johnson trails. The East Loop is trail is ~2.82 miles. The pace will be moderate and should take less than an hour. Well behaved, leashed dogs that will not trip people in the dark are welcome. There will be very low lighting, so you will need to bring a flashlight. In the event of rain, the hike will be canceled. Directions to meeting location: Take exit #295 (Gorman St.) off of interstate 40 and the 440 beltline. From Gorman St., head north (toward NC State). At the intersection of Gorman St. and Avent Ferry Rd, take a left onto Avent Ferry Rd. Go approximately 3/4 mile, turn left into parking lot Lake Johnson Park. Additional parking is across bridge on left beyond entrance to the park or at Athens High School on the corner of Avent Ferry Road and Athens Drive.
