"Sophisticated and artful" -Queens Buzz
Up-and-coming Queens-based Jazz composer and trombonist Jeff Fairbanks (recipient of BMI Foundation's Charlie Parker Composition Prize and the ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award) and his 17-piece big band play Fairbanks’ original Jazz compositions with Korean and Chinese influences. These unique cross-cultural concerts will feature Korean musicians Seo Ra-Mi (Gayageum), Yoo Yo-Seon (percussion), and Jang Yeong-Joo (Korean dance). Also appearing: acclaimed Baritone Saxophonist Fred Ho.
Free admission, donation welcome.
This concert is made possible in part with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Queens Council on the Arts.
