PRE-BABAK BEAUTY CHALLENGE SHOOT - Filled, wait list available

Here we go, as promised, another Beauty Industry shoot. FUN FUN. Hairdressers / MUA/ Wardrobe start 10 am Photographers start 12 noon Later in the day we will be conducting the cattle call with Ryan Teal from L'Oreal for the Babak Workshop in February. Hairdressers $75. (sign up at hairdresser RSVP) SPA Studio Members $75. Non-Members $275. with portfolio submission and acceptance. Includes membership fee for the month of January. Hairstylists/ MUAs from local high end hair salons will be joining us for a beauty industry competition shoot. Each hairdresser will work with one model of thier choosing during the competition, either working with a MUA or doing make up themselves. Photographers will shoot at SPA Studio using settings, and items from the studio or items brought in, in their own style and lighting scheme. Photographers will work with models in a limited time rotation shooting with each hairstylist's model twice, once in a contemporary style, once in an updo style. Photographers are allowed one non shooting assistant if desired. Photographers can use available studio lighting gear or bring their own. Goal of the challenge is for each photographer, under limited time constraints to create a cohesive NAHA style collection of beauty images working with a variety of hairdresser styles. Marketing and product educator for Brocato/Beautopia/Kadus Jessee Skittrall will be giving instruction on shooting for the industry and working with an art director. He will be judging the finished images. Images will be judged on specific criteria -, ability to follow art direction, industry viability, lighting quality, attention to detail, composition, use of setting and lighting to create mood, individual creativity of the photographer, finished post production, theme cohesiveness of collection. All of the hairstylists design must show in the image. Jessee will submit the chosen images to be featured in various trade and consumer beauty industry trade publications. Credit given to all involved in the work. Participating photographers need to be willing to sign a release for publication and submit publication quality files of images. Photographers will upload ONE best image of each model from two rounds - two images per model. Images will be uploaded to the SPA site prior to midnight September 13th. Photographers who fail to submit by the deadline will be disqualified from publication submissions. Publications submitted to are not financially compensated, credit only.
