Description from Avant-GuideMore than just a stinky bar with crimson walls, Chateau is an bona fide institution sporting a good sound-system and some of the best lighting in Prague. Tripled in size with the opening of its cellar dance space, the bar is experiencing something of a renaissance. Everyone, it seems, floats through here at some point during the week, making this one of the best late-night scenes in town. It's a colorful fishbowl, containing every skin color and every length of hair -- the unifying feature is a desire to get liquored up and lucky. Skunk smokers roll up early to meet with their "travel agents." Later it's workers from other bars and horny locals dropping lines on random tourists who regularly swim by. Beer is the drink of choice, though the bartenders are just capable enough to mix simple cocktails too.
