Children's Museum of Virginia (Hampton Roads)

Admission is $6/person, with children under two free. We gladly accept cash, checks or major credit cards at the museum.

Winter Hours: The Children's Museum of Virginia is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. We're closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. We are open for Monday holidays.

Summer Hours: (Memorial Day to Labor Day) The Children's Museum of Virginia is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Museum Visitation Policy: Children must be supervised at all times. An adult must accompany children under 14 years of age. You must be 18 years or older to accompany a child into the museum. Parents/ Caregivers are responsible for their children's behavior.

Parking is available in an adjacent parking garage on County Street. Parking fees are just $1.00 per hour and free on the weekend.

Membership Information: Members of Portsmouth Museums receive unlimited free membership to all four Portsmouth Museums — the Children's Museum of Virginia, Courthouse Galleries, the Lightship Museum, and the Naval Shipyard Museum. Birthday Parties: Make your child's birthday something really special with a party at the Children's Museum of Virginia. Includes invitations for your guests (up to 15), museum admission, a party room decorated with balloons, and a special goody bag for the birthday child.
