This hike was suggested on our site and I noticed a lot of interest, so I thought I'd post it. To quote Paul Gerald from the book 60 hikes in 60 miles, "This is the crown jewel of the Oregon state Parks system; it's also the most visited park in the state." This is 7 mile loop is rated easy and has 9 different waterfalls. I've heard you can even walk under some of the falls if you had a raincoat and don't mind a bit of water. If you don't like crowds, this isn't the hike for you. It's a busy one. It is about 1.5hrs south of Portland in Silverton, OR. Time Frame 8:30am-Leave Portland 10am-1:30pm-Hike 3pm-4pm-Return to Portland depending on if groups choose to stop on the way back. What to bring: -Hiking boots -Lunch -At least 1 liter of water -$$ to pay driver's (cost is $3 per car for parking and additional for gas). Please bring small bills. -Dress for Oregon weather. Always be ready for rain.
