winterblue theatre presents the classic: MISS JULIE by August Strindberg November 27 @ 8:00pm November 28 @ 3:00pm & 8:00pm November 29 @ 2:00pm Considered the father of modern drama, Strindberg wrote this riveting story of mutual seduction between a count's daughter and her valet in 1888, but its tumultuous give and take battle between the sexes holds just as much punch and ultimate tragedy for contemporary audiences. (The play was most recently produced on Broadway in 2005.) Adding to the sexual tension between Miss Julie and Jean as their flirtation builds to a fevered consummation on Midsummer Eve in Sweden, this production features the world-class, live music of Portland's own, Ed Pearlman of Highland Soles.
