Wild Cherry-Alder loop hike

Varied elevations Distance: About 5 Miles Total Elevation Gain: 450 Feet--some ups and downs, a few hills. Expected Pace: Moderate-2 MPH Expected finish time: 1:00 PM Expected Weather: Fall weather, likely blustery. I will update as the hike gets closer. Overall Rating: East to Moderate The Wild Cherry-Alder Loop Trail takes you 4.9 miles (with 450 feet elevation gain) through deep forest of bigleaf maple, red alder, Western red cedar, Douglas fir and hemlock trees. Start up the popular Leif Erikson Drive for 0.3 miles and take a left onto the Wild Cherry Trail. Head straight up for some heart-pumping switchbacks, and take a right onto the rolling hills of the Wildwood Trail at 0.9 miles -- look for scrumptious raspberries in July. Take Wildwood for 2.6 miles until you hit the Alder Trail junction. Follow Alder Trail until it makes its way back to Leif Erikson Drive.
