CHANCE HAYDEN TRIO
Chance Hayden is a celebrated guitarist who continues to labor tirelessly shaping and polishing his craft. Though young, he has already made a significant mark on the Portland jazz scene. Committed to developing an individual voice, he's willing to take risks to develop as a musician and act as a leader despite being younger than most of his colleagues. While leading an array of groups from small combos to a nine-piece electric salute to Miles Davis to Troubled Boots, his Vintage Americana project, Chance also performs enthusiastically as a sideman for artists such as Shelly Rudolph, Darrell Grant, Devin Phillips and the Oregon Jazz Orchestra.
For the "The Mood of Monday" jazz series, Chance hosts variations of a versatile trio who will be joined by a different guest artist at each show.

MICHALANGELA
Michalangela is a young jazz vocalist with a timeless feel. It's a classic sound with a modern edge, similar to that of Billie Holiday, Blossom Dearie, and yes, Erykah Badu. Songs range from standards to original tunes, one particular to Portland called "Portland Rain Song." The originals tend to be a fusion of jazz and neo-soul, while the standards help you remember that same old feeling.
Her music has been featured in a recent release by Gorilla Poet Productions, where she did a cover of Roger Miller's "England Swings." Michalangela's debut album, "Portland Rain," is available for purchase through CDBaby.com, iTunes, and many other online distributors.
