Description
Pack a turkey and cranberry sandwich (or maybe some hot soup), and head out (possibly in the rain) to work off some turkey-day calories and celebrate Jessie's birthday! We'll make it a lazy start to the day and meet at the Portland Boathouse Dock (often associated with Alder Creek's Boathouse location) on the East Esplanade in SE Portland. We'll paddle downstream, circle a pillar of the Freemont Bridge and then head back upstream enjoying the holiday passersby and an extra day off of work (for some of us). Please dress warm and dry. Although this is a familiar area it is also one that can be difficult to get out on shore if you go over. Immersion-wear in November is highly suggested. Some layers of polypropelene/wool/fleece are a necessity by far. Remember to bring some gloved and a hat, and something to protect you from the wind/rain (with all this doomsday stuff hopefully fate will give us a beautiful day! - but that's asking a lot!). See ya out there! -Jessie
