Description
Thursday, January 8
LEFTHANDMONKEYWRENCH
9:30 p.m. | $4 | 21 and over

Lefthand Monkeywrench plays music in the style of the old masters; in it, you can hear echoes of The Band, Gram Parsons, Wilco, Merle Haggard, and The Grateful Dead. The band describes its sound as "Ragged but right. Loose but loving." They live and play in the moment. Each show, each song, each note is viewed as a chance to explore musical boundaries and limitless possibilities.

Lefthand Monkeywrench started when Doyle Lodor and Mark Robarge found some common musical ground. Over time, the addition of Dan Gunderson on guitar, Gordon Dunkeld on fiddle and Michael Varisco on washboard seemed to solidify the group. When Chris Hutton joined the band in January 2008 on drums, the lineup was complete.

Following a busy year with several TV appearances, a West Coast tour and several big festivals where they opened for the likes of The JGB, Gram Rabbit, and the Holy Modal Rounders. The Wrench are looking forward to 2009.
